Description
According to the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), the modernization of legacy IT systems is a top priority for state governments as aging systems cannot meet modern capacity and capability demands. NASCIO further identifies governance, guidelines, and policies as critical components for managing risk, providing oversight, and ensuring legacy modernization efforts stay on track. Within this context, the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget established the State Unified Information Technology Environment initiative to standardize methodologies, procedures, training, and tools to guide all phases of the State’s legacy modernization activities.
