Accounting graduates should have an interest in both financial and performance auditing and an understanding of professional accounting and auditing standards. A working knowledge of computer technology, including the ability to use a personal computer, is desirable. Candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly with agency staff, members of the Legislature, and all levels of OAG management and staff and must demonstrate a desire to work in a team setting. We also look for candidates who have an interest in becoming professionally licensed as Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
Information systems graduates should be ready to apply their technical knowledge to real-world situations and should demonstrate an interest in working in an auditing environment. Candidates should also have the ability to communicate clearly with all levels of OAG management and staff.

The majority of our work is performed during normal business hours and employees are given the opportunity to adopt flexible work schedules. In addition, new auditors earn very competitive salaries and an attractive benefits package. We offer financial and other assistance to help you obtain your CPA certificate. We also offer a full range of continuing professional education opportunities designed to improve and maintain your knowledge and skills. In addition, we have a partial tuition reimbursement program to assist those who would like to continue their education in pursuit of a graduate degree.
