Scott M. Strong, C.P.A., C.I.A., was appointed Deputy Auditor General effective February 2004. As Deputy Auditor General, Mr. Strong acts as the principal aide to the Auditor General in carrying out the responsibilities of the Office of the Auditor General. This includes, but is not limited to, advice and counsel on financial and performance audits, information systems, continuing professional education for staff, and recruiting and hiring of staff. Mr. Strong also directs the activities of the audit divisions, including development of a risk and opportunity based audit plan and coordination of audit activities in accordance with the audit plan

Prior to becoming the Deputy Auditor General, Mr. Strong served the Office of the Auditor General for 23 years, primarily in management and supervisory functions. He has extensive experience in managing both financial and performance audits of the State and its organizations and programs.

Mr. Strong currently serves on the Midwestern Intergovernmental Audit Forum Executive Committee. Mr. Strong is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the State Association of Accountants, Auditors, and Business Administrators.

Mr. Strong has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Ferris State University.
