Therese A. Regner, C.P.A., was appointed as an Audit Division Administrator in June 2003. As an Audit Division Administrator, Ms. Regner is primarily responsible for the financial and performance audits at the Department of Attorney General, Michigan Department of Education, Michigan Department of State Police, Department of Treasury, and the Legislature. In addition, Ms. Regner participates in formulating audit policy, establishing and measuring goals and objectives, and developing and providing training for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bureau of Audit Operations. Ms. Regner also participates in the National State Auditors Association peer review process of auditor's offices in other states.
Prior to becoming an Audit Division Administrator, Ms. Regner served the Office of the Auditor General for 21 years in management, supervisory, and staff functions. She has extensive experience in managing both financial and performance audits of the State and its organizations and programs. Ms. Regner is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served in various leadership positions on the Greater Lansing Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants. Ms. Regner has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Central Michigan University.
