Steven J. Baker, C.P.A., C.I.S.A., was appointed Audit Division Administrator in November 2003. Mr. Baker is responsible for financial and performance audits at the Department of Environmental Quality, Department of Information Technology, Department of State, and the Executive Office and for information technology audits at all departments. In addition, Mr. Baker participates in the formulation of audit policy and the establishment of goals and objectives for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bureau of Audit Operations. He also participates in the presentation of final audit reports to legislative committees and represents the Auditor General when consulting with, providing assistance to, or advising officials from other states, the federal government, and professional organizations.
Mr. Baker has over 23 years of experience with the Office of the Auditor General, including supervising information technology audits and the Software Assistance Section and managing financial, performance, and information technology audits. Mr. Baker is a member of the State Association of Accountants, Auditors, and Business Administrators. Mr. Baker has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Ferris State University and an associate's degree in computer security and controls from Lansing Community College.
